About the work
The days, the waves
Object book: ink on filter paper
For this series of drawings made in collaboration with the sea, Jimena gives rise to matter, works in a kind of partnership with it, recognizing its expressive capacity and giving it decision-making power in the work. The days, the waves is based on the relationship between rhythm, body and space/land. It expands the artist’s research in relation to bodies of water, and water not as a resource but as an active entity, bearer of knowledge, that connects and is inherent to humans and non-human beings.
